A gang of men planned to steal Declan Donnelly’s expensive car by breaking into his family’s home while the TV star was sleeping, a court heard.

Four men pleaded guilty to stealing a number of high-end vehicles, including one from I’m A Celebrity … Get me out of here! Moderator Dec.

The 45-year-old’s black Range Rover was among the roughly £ 750,000 worth of luxury vehicles requested by the group.

Ellis Glynne, 29, Connor Murray, 21, Perry Ogle, 23, and Vinothkumar Ratnam, 37, all pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to steal the car between January 1 and July 9 of this year.

The police were called in the early hours of the 6th.

Dec, his wife Ali, 43, and daughter Isla were asleep at the time of the attempted theft and did not know it until they were later informed by police.

A source told The Sun at the time: “They couldn’t force open the gates and that was what made them give up and flee.

“Dec and Ali were not disturbed. The first thing they noticed was in the morning. “

The gang is believed not to have gained access to the £ 5 million mansion.

Forensic units were dispatched to the grassed area to search the area for evidence while the police are investigating.

Dec’s best buddy and co-host, Ant McPartlin, 45, lived on the same street in West London but moved out after breaking up with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

Glynne and Ratnam, both from Surrey, and Murray and Ogle, both from Hounslow, west London, appeared in the dock at Kingston Crown Court with four others.

Alfie Chandler, 18, of Hounslow, pleaded not guilty to the plot to steal the vehicles.

Judge Sarah Plaschke’s QC set the hearing on January 4th next year.

She put Glynne and Murray in custody, while the other defendants were released on bail before another hearing on October 15.
