National Highways released a rerouting route for drivers this morning following a “serious” accident in Surrey.
The accident locked the M25 clockwise in the early hours of Tuesday morning (October 12).
A car and a truck were involved in the accident, which traffic information services such as Inrix describe as “serious”.

The road has been closed from Exit 10 A3 (Wisley Interchange) to Exit 11 A320 St Peters Way (Chertsey) since 3.30am.
According to National Highways, it is not expected to reopen until this morning.
The traffic back to Cobham Services that is between Junction 9 and Junction 10 is already congested.

Road users are advised to follow the hollow diamond diversion route:
- From the M25 Junction 10 “Wisley Interchange” exit roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A3 towards London.
- Take the A3 / A240 Painshill Interchange exit and take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto the A245 towards Woking.
- Follow the A245 past Brooklands and through West Byfleet.
- Turn right at the mini roundabout towards Woking Town Center, follow the A245, then turn left at the next mini roundabout.
- At the A245 / A320 Six Crossroads roundabout, take the 5th exit onto the A320 towards Chertsey.
- Follow the A320 through Ottershaw to the St. Peter’s Way roundabout.
- Take the 2nd exit towards Weybridge and at the M25 roundabout, Junction 11, take the 1st exit to rejoin the M25 towards Heathrow.
