Analysis by LeaseCar has shown that a range of electric vehicles allow drivers to travel to locations such as Newquay Beach, Eastbourne and Brighton Pier. The warning comes as stays are expected to increase in 2021 as the range of electric cars continues to increase as many vehicles can now travel over 250 miles.
Be e-Niro
Drivers can travel from Birmingham to Eastbourne in the cheap Kia e-Niro.
The car is equipped with a 64 kWh battery, which is a significant increase over the old 32 kWh battery.
This new tool offers an additional 100 miles, which means the car can now travel 230 miles.
BMW i3
Often viewed as a car for city dwellers, the BMW i3 can be just as ideal for longer day trips.
The car has a range of 165 miles on one electric charge, making it ideal for the 160 mile drive to South Bay in Scarborough.
Fiat 500 e hatchback
Owners with small electric cars can also enjoy a day at the beach.
LeaseCar says the little Italian Fiat 500 e Hatchback can travel 90 miles, which could bring drivers close to Weston-Super-Mare.
The beach is 105 miles away, which means drivers may need to recharge at a charging station on the M5 to ensure they get there unscathed.
