GB News host Ellie Costello has announced that she is recovering from a car accident.
The southeast reporter suffered whiplash, bruised ribs and back injuries after the collision on Saturday and has not been on the station since.
Ellie shared a selfie from the hospital on Twitter when she mentioned why she was missing from the hosting chores.
“Sorry for @GBNEWS’s absence,” she wrote. “On Saturday our stationary car was hit by a driver in the wrong lane. I’m at home recovering from whiplash, bruised ribs, and back injuries.
‘I am very happy. Thank you to my brilliant friends, family, colleagues and the NHS for their kindness. ‘
Ellie’s GB News co-stars flocked to wish her a speedy recovery, and Josh Rom wrote, “I’m sending you all the love and virtual hugs in the world!”

With a similar sentiment, Dan Wootton added, “Oh no, Ellie. Thank god you are fine. I hope your recovery is quick. ‘
GB News began broadcasting in June and promised to offer news providers such as the BBC and Sky News an alternative and to devote themselves to the so-called demolition culture.
A number of big names joined the station at launch, including ITV News journalist Alastair Stewart, BBC journalist Simon McCoy and former Labor MP Gloria De Piero.
Guto Harri left GB News in July after cutting his knee during a debate over the racism against English footballers while other staff reportedly left.

Last month, Andrew Neil stepped down from his role as chairman and host of a prime-time show on the channel.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, he said he was “close to a breakdown” while at GB News after suffering from stress due to the technical problems of the young station.
