Heavy police presence after two people were injured in a car accident on a main street in Clifton

Two people were injured in a collision between two cars on the A453 in Clifton.

Pictures show that around six police cars and two fire engines are present at the scene of the accident, which occurred shortly before 9 p.m.

The East Midlands Ambulance Service is currently investigating two injured people at the scene

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called to the scene by police at 8:56 pm. Firefighters from Highfields and West Bridgford are present.

“Two cars were involved and two injured people are being investigated by the East Midlands Ambulance Service.”

A lane is supposed to be blocked by the crash.

Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted.
