Social club managers have said they are “deeply sorry” after fireworks went off and car horns sounded at 1am after a wedding.
Sheffield’s Crookes Social Club has been handling complaints after loud noises infuriated residents as a wedding reception left the venue in the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 25th.
An online video shows numerous cars sounding their horns and fireworks in the residential area.

Some residents claim the noise lasted 45 minutes and the police were on site after complaints.
Those who run the Social Club say they are “deeply sorry” for what happened.
A spokesperson said: “On behalf of the management of the Crookes Club, I would like to apologize for the noise made when some guests were leaving.
“The organizers of the event were specifically told that I would only accept the booking if they left without the car horns and were refused permission to set off fireworks.

“I can only say that we are very sorry for any disturbance.”
Those who live in the area were furious about what happened and the fact that it kept them awake.
One person who commented on the Crookes Social Club Facebook page said: “It was frankly a shame to face 45 minutes of fireworks outside the house and horn horns while in a heavily student community at the height of our exams and dissertations the ride over.
“People should be punished for their actions, complete disrespect for anyone other than themselves. This was the last thing I needed at 1am on a weekday.”
Another added: “Shameful behavior, don’t worry about local residents as usual.”
South Yorkshire Police say they received a report of a malfunction at around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25. The investigations are still ongoing.
