The M62 going west was closed this morning due to a vehicle accident that police say three men ran away leaving injured women inside.
The incident has resulted in the highway being closed to the west between Exit 4 (The Rocket) and Exit 5 (Knotty Ash / Huyton).
Police said two men were found nearby, but they are looking for a third.
One person on social media reported hearing a “big impact” before the shutdown, which happened just after 6:30 am.
