Three people have been arrested by anti-terrorism police after a fatal car explosion outside a Liverpool hospital.
The men, aged 29, 26 and 21, according to police, were arrested in the Kensington neighborhood of Liverpool before being arrested in connection with the Terrorism Act explosion.
“North West Counterterrorism Police detectives remain open to the cause of the explosion and are working closely with Merseyside Police officers as the investigation progresses rapidly,” the police said.

One person died and another was injured in the fire outside the hospital
Merseyside According to the police, officers were called Liverpool Women’s clinic on Sunday at 10:59 a.m. Pictures shared on the internet showed a car that was on fire and later burned out with smoke rising over the building.
Armed police officers were pictured outside a house in the city after the explosion.
“Unfortunately, we can confirm that one person has died and another has been taken to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, which fortunately are not life-threatening,” the troop said.

“As far as we know, the car is a taxi that stopped at the hospital shortly before the explosion,” the statement said.
Counter-terrorism officials are conducting the investigation “out of caution”, but detectives said they are “open” to the cause.

There was a heavy police presence in front of the hospital
The hospital said the visit would be restricted until further notice, with patients being redirected to other hospitals if possible.
A statement said ambulances were still arriving and that staff could go and get in “under police supervision”.

Phil Garrigan, chief fire officer of the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, said the fire was “fully developed” when his crews arrived and that the injured person escaped before they were caught.
He told reporters, “The emergency teams quickly put out the fire, but as the police chief repeated, there was one death.
“Another person had left the vehicle before the fire got that far.”

Liverpool Mayor Joanne Anderson described the incident as “worrying and disturbing”.
“My thoughts are with those affected,” she tweeted. “I would like to thank the emergency services for their quick response and the calming of the situation.”

After the explosion, smoke rose over the hospital
“Our police and emergency services are working hard to find out what happened and it is right that they are given the time and space to do it,” she added.
While police are investigating the scene, a cordon and road closures have been put in place.
No arrests were made.
