Man with life changing injuries after being mowed down by car in a Scottish village

A man has been hit by a car in a Scottish village while police are asking for clues.

The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 27 at the Brae powder mill in Gorebridge, Midlothian.

The 38-year-old was hit by a silver BMW, the driver of which stopped and is currently assisting the Scottish Police.

Rescue workers were on site and the man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for serious injury treatment.

Sergeant Steve Livesey said, “This man suffered life changing injuries and we are trying to find out exactly what happened.

“We have spoken to a number of people, but we would ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

“Think back, did you see the pedestrian nearby before the collision? He was wearing a dark blue zipped jacket, brown chinos, and black shoes.

“Or have you been driving in the area and might have dash cam footage that can help us?”
