Milsted Langdon installs charging stations for electric vehicles at the Taunton site

Milsted Langdon, an accounting firm in the southwest of the country, has announced plans to install new charging stations for electric vehicles in its Taunton office.

The four new charging stations for electric cars will be available to employees to charge their vehicles while they work and were co-financed by a government grant.

Milsted Langdon accessed funding for the program through the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS). This government voucher system provides eligible companies with assistance with the upfront costs of purchasing and installing EV charging stations.

The contribution is limited to 75% of the purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £ 350 for each socket.

The four charging stations are being added in parallel with a “major renovation” of Milsted Langdon’s Taunton office in Winchester House on Deane Gate Avenue.

Rob Chedzoy, Tax Partner at Milsted Langdon, said: “More and more companies could benefit from installing electric charging stations and purchasing electric vehicles, both from a tax perspective and as an opportunity to improve their eco-certification.

“Switching to electric cars can bring a company tax benefits in the form of benefits in kind, capital allowances and a reduction in vehicle tax. We have already advised many customers in this area and hope to give others access to this useful financing in the future. “
