A groom in Louisiana was arrested after allegedly shooting his bride’s male friend.
Devin Jose Jones, 30, was stuck in a car in traffic with his new wife and boyfriend on Interstate 10 outside New Orleans when an argument broke out between them. Mr Jones allegedly accused the couple of having an affair.
His wife’s unnamed friend escaped from the vehicle during the argument and was followed by Mr. Jones, who was still wearing his wedding suit. He is said to have chased the man through the traffic and fired at him with a gun.
People traveling in other cars that got stuck in traffic posted the incident on social media, commenting on the special scene of a man in a tuxedo chasing another man down the highway and shooting him between the cars.
The woman’s boyfriend was shot in the leg and another driver reportedly injured when a stray bullet penetrated the vehicle’s window. The two victims were transported to a nearby hospital.
During the argument between the two men, the bride, still in her wedding dress, fled her vehicle and sought refuge in a nearby ambulance. She was forced to barricade after her new husband allegedly tried to break into the vehicle to get to her, L’Observateur reported.
Mr. Jones was arrested on multiple charges, including attempted second degree murder, heavy second degree battery, illegal use of weapons and two cases of aggravated property.
