Cathkin Braes stabbed: man in serious condition after quarrel broke out in parking lot

A man is badly in the hospital after being stabbed to death at Cathkin Braes.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident, which occurred late Sunday evening in the south of Glasgow.

Detectives turn their attention to a white VW Golf that was parked in the parking lot near the large windmill on the Braes. At least two men were in the vehicle and a fight broke out between them while they were outside on a nearby path.

A 24-year-old was subsequently stabbed and admitted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries. Medical professionals describe him as in serious condition.

The police asked for information after the terrorist attack, published a description of the suspect and asked anyone with information to come forward.

A statement released tonight said: “Detectives are investigating after a man was attacked in Cathkin Braes on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

“Between 9:00 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., a white VW Golf was parked in the Cathkin Braes parking lot near the large windmill. At least two men were in the vehicle. The men were out on a nearby path when an argument broke out “between them, resulting in a man being stabbed. The injured man, 24 years old, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he is staying. The medical staff describe his condition as serious.

“The suspect is described as about five feet tall, with brown hair and an athletic stature. He spoke with a local accent. He drove away in the VW Golf after the incident.”

Cathcart CID Detective Constable John Chesney said, “From our investigations we assume there were other vehicles in the parking lot at the time, so we ask for witnesses who observed the VW Golf and the inmates of Cathkin Braes. I would also ask anyone with dashcam equipment who was in this area at the time of the incident to review their footage. It is possible that a picture was taken that could support our investigation. “
