NITON ROAD CLOSED BY POLICE AFTER AUTO ROLLS HOSPITALISING 2 – Iceland Echo

A collision with a single vehicle in traffic on the outskirts of Niton resulted in a road closure this evening (Monday).

Police, paramedics and fire brigade are on duty on Niton Road, where a vehicle is said to have rolled onto the roof, off the road and into a hedge.

It was confirmed that the inmates managed to break free from the wreck. The crash happened around 7.30 p.m.

The fire and rescue service from Hampshire & Isle of Wight is present in the interests of safety at the scene, the fire department has confirmed.

The road is closed in both directions between Beacon Alley and Shinybricks Lane while the vehicle is recovered from its position near the S-turns and the hidden sink.

Niton Road should be reopened in due course.

UPDATE @ 9:15 pm – 2 people were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for examination, it was confirmed.

All emergency services have since withdrawn from the incident, with the exception of the police, who are waiting for the car to be recovered.
