Police: Car crashes into house and kills Maryland man | News from Maryland

BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (AP) – A man suspected of being under the influence of alcohol fell into a home in Maryland early Saturday morning, killing a 68-year-old boy, police said.

The collision occurred around 3 a.m. on Saturday in Brooklyn Park when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign, jumped over a curb and crashed into a Gerald Patrick Keogh Jr. home, news outlets reported.

Keogh was trapped between the car and damaged interior walls until rescue workers arrived and rescued him, Anne Arundel County police said. He was taken to a Baltimore hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, 49-year-old Christopher Davis from Baltimore, fled the scene but was arrested, according to police.

Police said it showed signs of impairment and toxicological results are pending.

Davis has been charged with vehicle manslaughter, vehicle homicide while drugged, driving while impaired, failure to be on the scene, and other charges.

Court records that did not list a lawyer to comment on Davis’ name indicated that a bond exam is scheduled for Monday.
