After a “serious” accident involving three vehicles on the M74, part of a main road in Scotland was closed.
After 3 p.m. there is no entry between junction 12 to 10, south of Lesmahagow, due to the collision between two motorcycles and a car.
The southbound lane at junction nine was also closed.

The rescue workers rushed to the scene, but it is currently unclear whether there are serious injuries.
A tweet from Traffic Scotland around 3pm advised drivers to avoid the busy road.
It read: “# M74 RTC
“The # M74 CLOSED N / B between J12-10 due to a serious RTC
“The S / B Autobahn was CLOSED at J9 to help
“The rescue service remains on site.
“Heavy traffic in the area, so #usealtroute, if possible
“#PlanAhead #TakeCare”
A police spokesman for Scotland said: “On Saturday 24 July at around 1.40pm, officers were called on the M74 between exits 11 and 10 following a report of a traffic accident involving two motorcycles and a car heading north.
“The ambulance service remains on site and the road is currently closed.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the presence on site.
