Police warned when a driver on the M62 was hit by a car after getting off to see an accident

A motorist was rushed to hospital after getting out of his car on the highway to investigate an accident.

The driver suffered minor injuries after being hit by another car on the M62 on Tuesday evening (November 16), police said.

On a chaotic night on the freeway, rescue workers rushed west to two collisions between junction 22 (Denshaw) and 21 (Milnrow).

Property damage occurred to the two vehicles involved, but there were no reports of injuries.

Due to the traffic jams and traffic jams, according to the police, many drivers left their cars while they were still on the motorway.

One person was rushed to hospital with minor injuries after colliding with a moving vehicle.

Police are now reminding motorists to stay in their cars unless it is absolutely necessary to get out – saying the latest incident on Tuesday hampered their efforts to get people moving again.

“While getting stuck in traffic jams can be frustrating, I urge people never to leave their vehicles in the middle of the freeway unless absolutely necessary,” said PC Lee Watkinson of GMP’s Road Police Department.

“Our officers worked flat out, supported by colleagues from Highways England, to get the road up and running again as quickly as possible after the collision. Unfortunately, the actions of those who got their vehicle excited have hampered these efforts.

“This incident illustrates the dangers of getting out of the vehicle on a busy motorway. Please only do this if it is an emergency, you are on the leftmost lane and it is safe to do so. “
