A quick response from Essex police resulted in police locating a car just before 5 a.m. (September 2) today – less than an hour after the Force Control Room was notified of the stolen vehicle.
It was reported at 4:04 a.m. and there was a quick response from dispatchers and the dog department.
Automatic license plate recognition also played a major role, and the vehicle was spotted entering London at 4.13 a.m.

The Metropolitan Police were then tasked with helping in the final part of the hunt, which ended when the vehicle was found just before 5 a.m.
