A separate investigation was opened after two men died when the car they were in crashed into a tree and crashed down an embankment on a country lane near Oldham.
Karl Edward Young, 34, who drove the car, and his co-driver Reiss Jarvis, 21, both died of multiple injuries at Royal Oldham Hospital following the accident on Huddersfield Road, Delph, on November 10th.
Karl of Beckett Street, Lees, was the owner and chef of the Grill at Number 20 in downtown Oldham, and Reiss of Beech Avenue, Oldham, was the bar manager but had previously worked as a television actor.

As the investigations into both men begin, Rochdale Coroner’s Court Assistant Coroner’s Court adjourned the full investigation of Reiss through May 10, 2022, and the hearing for Karl will be held on May 11.

Coroner Jane Scullion told the hearing that Karl was driving his Mazda 3 car on Huddersfield Road when it hit a tree, drove down an embankment, and landed in a field below.
She said both were rushed to the hospital but died shortly after arriving.
An autopsy carried out by Emil Salmo revealed that the cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries.

Mr Salt has requested that reports be prepared by the Greater Manchester Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit for both investigations.
Reiss is believed to have starred in the 2017 crime drama Murdered for Being Different, based on the murder of Sophie Lancaster, 20, in Rossendale. He played Michael Gorman on the show.
After the tragedy, floral tributes were set up at the crime scene and several friends of Reiss were shocked at the loss of the young actor.
Pal Kieran Ackers said Reiss was “one in a million”.

In memory of Karl after his death, his family said: “Karl was one of the most lovable and sincere people in life. He was kind, gentle, and loved by so many.
“He was a lifelong Oldham Athletic fan and avid sports enthusiast who loved to travel and lived a full life with large family and friends.

“It is indescribable how much we will miss Karl. Losing him is unbearable and has left a huge void in our lives.
“Our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same, but we have had the absolute pleasure and honor to be part of his life and share so many happy times together. That is our only consolation in these dark times. “
The Manchester Evening News previously reported how a man was injured by fireworks and left in a life-threatening condition while on a vigil for Reiss and Karl.
