The 10 best electric and hybrid cars, ranking

With electric cars taking the world by storm, it’s only right that Forza Horizon 5 follows suit, introducing some incredibly powerful electric and hybrid cars. There are many supercars and modern sports cars that already run electricity in the real world. Now that Forza Horizon 5 is out, these cars are becoming a joy and privilege to drive.

That joy comes mainly from the raw power these unique cars have to offer. As electric cars become more popular, such cars stand out from the crowd and are quickly becoming fan favorites. These favorites are based on opinions, so exploring the best electric and hybrid cars isn’t set in stone. However, when you look at the stats and performance of these cars, their ranking is often undisputed.

Formula E SRT 01E

Electric cars Formula E SRT 01E

This fully electric race car was actively developed for Formula E racing, so it’s a pretty good looking and powerful car. Compared to the many other electric cars, however, the Formula E SRT 01E cannot hold its own very well.

It has a top speed of 140 mph and takes 3.2 seconds to reach 60 mph, which means it has a fairly low start as well as a fairly low speed. Other than that, it’s perfect for cornering and has good overall handling. Unfortunately, that’s all because the braking is incredibly slow and the speed leaves a lot to be desired.

Acura NSX 2017

Acura NSX 2017 electric cars

The 2017 Acura NSX is a beast of a car. It’s powerful, fast, and has pretty good handling. The speed itself is enough to love the car, with a top speed of 191 mph and a speed of 0-100 in 6.4 seconds. This doesn’t outperform the hypercars Forza puts into the race, but it can certainly compete for an electric car.

It is meant for a nice, smooth race and will surely give you that if you play it right. It sometimes feels like the NSX is hard to control while turning when you’re pushing it at top speed, but that doesn’t make it boring to drive. It’s slick, feels powerful, and can rival other high performing supercars even if it’s not the best.

Jaguar I-Pace

Jaguar I-Pace electric cars

As one of Jaguar’s first electric cars, this car has all of the wonderful qualities of a racing car with all of the unique aspects of a Jaguar. It doesn’t look very much like the Spyder or a large Formula 1 racing car, but this premium SUV can hold its own.

It has pretty good speed, great handling, and some useful off-road skills that make this car incredibly useful.

Mercedes-AMG ONE

Mercedes-AMG ONE electric cars

As a classic two-seater Formula 1 hybrid, the Mercedes-AMG ONE will catapult other non-hybrid cars to last place. It’s one of those vehicles that looks like it could fly, and the Mercedes keeps that promise.

The performance-oriented hybrid is capable of reaching over 1,000 horsepower with a top speed of over 220 mph. It’s tough handling, but with the right skills and the right platform, the Mercedes-AMG ONE is incredibly powerful and fun. It doesn’t have the best start speed, which in some races can mean the difference between winning and losing. Ultimately, this car can do well in certain street races, but a drag strip is likely a poor choice if this car is used in inventory.

Raesr Tachyon Speed

Raesr Tachyon electric cars

As if one electric motor wasn’t enough, the Raesr Tachyon Speed is powered by six high quality electric motors that allow this beautiful car to maximize its speed at around 240 mph, by far one of the fastest electric cars in the game.

It is currently considered to be one of the lightest electric cars in Forza history and you can really feel that when you drive it. This kind of ease takes getting used to, but luckily the breaking is second to none when you’re spinning. It’s worth a try, even if it takes a bit of getting used to.

BMW I8

BMW I8 electric cars

As a hybrid super sports car, this engine has all the advantages of an electric motor and all the power of an internal combustion engine. However, it often doesn’t feel as strong as it could be.

The BMW i8 can go from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 194 miles per hour. Not the best, but certainly not the worst! Even so, the car has a great start, speed and acceleration. The only thing that fails is breaking – it’s clumsy and frustrating.

Ferrari LaFerrari

Ferrari LaFerrari electric cars

The LaFerrari is another incredibly light and agile car that can reach speeds that other diesel cars can only dream of. Unlike many other electric cars, the LaFerrari has incredible handling and braking, as well as some incredibly high speeds.

It can reach 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and can reach speeds between 221-257 depending on the tuning you put on this beautiful vehicle. It’s lighter than the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder, but just doesn’t understand this aspect of speed.

Porsche 918 Spyder

Electric cars Porsche 918 Spyder

While it’s not the fastest electric car in the game, the acceleration that the Porsche 918 Spyder is capable of is second to none. It hits 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds and hits 100 in 4.9 seconds.

Great speed comes with great handling, it’s all-wheel drive that allows you to accelerate quickly, go off-road and keep up with most races. It’s also one of the fastest X-Class cars in the Forza Horizon series.

Rimac concept 2

Rimac Concept 2 electric cars

This fully electric hypercar is able to reach a high speed of around 458 km / h and almost breathes power. It looks amazing, is incredibly powerful, and is one of the newest cars introduced in Forza Horizon 5.

This car, which was only unveiled to the world in 2021, is capable of outstanding driving performance. With an incredible start, interesting handling, and pretty unrivaled speed, this car is a joy and a frustration to drive. Just don’t take it off-road.

1
McLaren P1

McLaren P1 electric cars

As one of the fastest cars in the Forza series, the McLaren P1 is great to drive. It goes from 0 to 60 in just 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of a whopping 250 miles per hour. For an electric car, this exceeds anything many gamers expect.

If speed wasn’t enough, the McLaren P1 offers an incredible start and handling. The P1 picks up speed very quickly from a standing start or when exiting a curve, thanks to its tight gear ratios, but tends to spin the wheels properly even when the traction control is switched off.
