AMC, the company behind this vehicle, has a different vision for its electric cars. The City One has designed it specifically with the needs of the community in mind. As ACM explains on its website, “Our mission is to bring universal access to affordable electric vehicles in cities around the world. We want to address the issue of climate change and the general improvement in quality of life. “
According to ACM, 85% of people have access to a household power outlet. The City One is charged by simply plugging it into one of these household sockets. You can also charge it with a quick charger. At home, the vehicle charges in about 8 hours. With the power charger it will be charged in 5 hours.

This vehicle is powered by low-voltage 48-V batteries, four in total. The roof rack is designed for additional batteries. There’s a storage space in the rear that’s surprisingly large given the size of the vehicle. With the rear seats folded out, it offers space for four people.
These utilitarian electric cars could also be useful fleet vehicles for governments. At a time when the US is planning to replace its entire federal fleet with electric vehicles, designs like The City One are more relevant than ever. These cars can be used to transport people, packages, food. They can also be used by rescue workers, police officers, and other officials.
