All traffic on the M56 was stopped after a “serious” accident involving a car and a motorcycle.
Emergency services rushed to reports of a crash on the M56 heading east at Junction 12, Runcorn, around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 15.
The North West Motorway Police, part of the Cheshire Police, and the North West Ambulance Service are at the scene of the accident, which is between a car and a motorcycle.

All traffic was temporarily stopped by the police at 8.45 p.m., but now the vehicles involved have been put on the hard shoulder so that traffic could pass.
Traffic was jammed before the reopening of the motorway back to Helsby.
According to the AA Traffic Map, the traffic is coping well.
Any injuries to those involved are not yet known.
