Woman dies after being hit by a car on Balmore Road, Glasgow

In Glasgow, a woman tragically died after being hit by a car.

On Saturday evening around 6:35 p.m., rescue workers were called to the crime scene on Balmore Road in the northeast of the city.

Police announced today that the woman was crossing the street near the intersection with Haywood Street when she was hit by a Ford Focus.

Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 49-year-old driver of the car was uninjured.

The police have now started investigations into the fatal accident and are asking anyone who gives evidence to report.

A statement by Scottish Police released this afternoon said: “Glasgow Roads Police officers are requesting information about a fatal traffic accident on Balmore Road, Glasgow.

“On Saturday the 27th

“The police and ambulance were present, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The driver of the car was unharmed.”

Sergeant Alan Cook of Govan’s Road Policing Unit said, “Our thoughts right now are with the woman’s family and friends.

“Our investigation into the cause of this accident is ongoing and I would like to urge anyone who witnessed the accident or anyone who was driving on this road shortly before the accident to contact us as soon as possible. I also want everyone to have a dashcam speak to.” Footage that could support our contact request. “
