A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car and then stabbed to death with a child in Cumbria.
Police are investigating an incident that occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Woodend area of Egremont.
A red Kia Rio had collided with a 40-year-old woman and a secondary school boy.
The driver, a man in his twenties, got out of the car and attacked the woman, leaving her with non-life-threatening stab wounds on the arm.
She was later transferred to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
The child suffered minor injuries, was taken to hospital and discharged as a precaution.
Police were later called at 2:44 p.m. on a report of a single vehicle collision on St Bees Road involving a red Kio Rio.
The officers came and found a man in his twenties in a wooded area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, there were no suspicious circumstances and no threat to the general public at the time.
