Yellowstone National Park introduces automated electric cars

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) – Park officials have begun testing electric vehicles that can be operated without a driver in Yellowstone National Park. The Billings Gazette reported that the park on Wednesday launched a $ 360,000 public experiment into the potential future of visitor transportation that will showcase two cube-shaped vehicles for eight passengers to be tested at Canyon Village. Park Superintendent Cam Sholly said Tuesday that vehicles are expected to enter the Canyon Village parking lot by August 31. Each 3D printed vehicle can carry 1,350 pounds and has $ 300,000 worth of technology. Similar vehicles were used in Maryland, Italy and Berlin.
