Questions include how often drivers use public chargers, what brands of chargers they use, and whether they are good value for money. The survey is available here and will only take a moment.

The reason for the survey is the increasing prevalence of plug-in hybrid and electric cars in the wake of the planned ban on the sale of new ICE vehicles by the British government in 2030, which is expected to drastically reduce the number of ICE vehicles on British roads.

As more people switch to electrified cars, it is important that the right infrastructure is in place to charge them quickly and easily.

According to the latest statistics from the Department of Transport, the UK’s public charging network has increased fivefold since 2015.

Although there are now over 20,000 public EV chargers in the UK, including more than 3,000 quick chargers, EV charging is arguably still a hit and miss.

Which car? Consumer Editor Claire Evans said: “In the next few years, more people will be relying on the UK public charging network and they need to know which companies offer the highest level of service and the best value for money.”

Earlier this year, Autocar conducted a research into fees which found that despite strong overall trends, many networks are inconsistent.

Which car? The survey aims to complement this data to provide a more detailed picture of EV charging in the UK.
