A collision with 2 vehicles this afternoon (Thursday) led to the partial closure of a main road in Sandown.
Emergency services are currently deployed on Avenue Road where a Mercedes-Benz and Mazda 2 collided near the Fort Mews intersection.
The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m.

UPDATE @ 6:10 PM Police were assisted by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service on site, which dispatched a paramedic crew and a task force commander to the scene.
The occupants of both cars are checked, but serious injuries are not expected.
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service also operates a single Ryde device in the interest of on-site safety.
Avenue Road is partially closed on one side of the carriageway, but will remain open under instruction.
