We expect it to be called the Nexon EV Long Range. It will get a bigger 40kWh battery pack over the current 30.2kWh pack. The Long Range is expected to come with a claimed range of over 400km. A real-world range of 300-320km on a single charge can thus be expected.

Tata Altroz ​​EV

The Altroz ​​EV will be completely based on the ongoing Altroz ​​with minimal tweaks in design. It will be built upon the ALFA-Arc platform, which is specially developed for the electric vehicle. This car might get a 30.2kWh liquid-cooled, IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The motor powering it might be a 3-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor which could generate around 100bhp. It might be priced somewhere between Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs.

Renault K-ZE EV

The Renault K-ZE would be based on the current generation Kwid. The global version makes 43bhp & 125Nm of torque. It gets a 26.8kWh battery pack that takes 4 hours to fully charge from an AC charger. With fast DC charging, it charges from 30 percent to 80 percent in half an hour. It can drive over 200km on a single charge. We could expect the same specifications in the Indian version and it might be launched at a price under Rs 10 lakhs.

The prices might not see a huge jump when compared to Kona electric that is currently available in India.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Mahindra XUV400

Mahindra is working on an electric version of the XUV300. It could be named the eXUV300 but some expect it to be named the XUV400. It would be built on Mahindra’s MESMA platform (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture). We expect it to come in a regular version as well as a long range version. A range of about 400kms on a single charge is expected to be made available. It might be priced somewhere between Rs 15 lakhs and might launch sometime by the end of this year or in 2023.

Mahindra has been working on the eKUV100 for a long time. It would be completely based on their KUV100 in terms of looks and dimensions. It would be powered by a 40kW motor with a battery pack of 15.9kWh. The setup would be capable of producing 54bhp & 120Nm of torque. The AC charger would take around 6 hours for charging it completely and with DC fast charging, it will charge from 0-80 percent in an hour. It is expected to launch in India at a price tag of Rs 9 lakhs.
