A motorist caught driving his car on the rims also had more than double the legal driving limit for alcohol, according to police.
The driver was spotted in the tireless vehicle in the early hours of the morning (8 November) by officers from the South Derbyshire Response Unit (SDRU) on patrol near Ashby.
Officers were doing a roadside breath test on the driver when they stopped him in the Swadlincote area.

The driver blows 74 micrograms of alcohol into 100 milliliters of breath and was more than double the legal limit of 35 micrograms, reports DerbyshireLive.
The SDRU reported the incident on their Twitter account and confirmed that the driver was arrested at the scene.
“Officers were made aware of a vehicle that was running on its rims, believed to be drunk. Located in Swadlincote and the driver blew 74.
“Arrested and on the way to pre-trial detention.”
SDRU officials also reminded drivers of the “Fatal 4” violations they routinely monitor on the streets; Speeding, alcohol or drug traffic, distracted driving and not wearing seat belts.
