A man tragically died after his engine was hit by a falling tree in Aberdeenshire as the country was hit by 160 km / h winds.
At around 5:45 p.m. on Friday, emergency services were called to the crime scene in a Nissan Navara pick-up truck on the B977 near Hatton of Fintray.

The 35-year-old, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police car that responded to the tragic incident was then completely destroyed after a large tree blew on it.
There were no officers in the vehicle at the time.
Sergeant Craig McNeill of Inverurie’s Divisional Road Policing Unit said, “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family and friends right now.
“Officials responding to this crash parked some distance away due to weather conditions. When they got back to their van, they found that a tree had fallen on it. Nobody was injured.
“Anyone who witnessed this crash, or had any information, is encouraged to call 101 on November 26th at 2999.”
The Met Office yesterday issued a rare “mortal danger” warning to much of Scotland as wind, rain and snow swept across the country.
The total death toll for the storm now stands at three after two more men were killed yesterday.
