A12 accident: car leaves the road before a major accident that closed the busy section of the A12

A car came off the road before colliding near a slip road on the A12.

The police are asking for information about the accident on the A12 northbound between Marks Tey and Stanway.

A gray Volkswagen Golf came off the road before it collided just before Exit 26 in Stanway between 12.55 and 13.10 on Monday, May 31.

Anyone who saw what happened or had dash cam footage will be asked to contact the Essex Police Department.

The driver of a blue or gray truck who was presumably nearby at the time will also be asked to report to the police.

A spokesman for Essex Police Department said: “We are asking for information following a collision with a gray Volkswagen Golf on the A12 between Marks Tey and Stanway.

“The car left the street on May 31 between 12.55 and 1.10 p.m. shortly before the exit at exit 26 on the north lane.

“We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened or had a dashcam of the incident or the moments that led up to it.

“In particular, we want to address the driver of a blue or gray truck that we believe was in the area at the time.”
