A man was arrested after a crash in Yeovil that closed the A3088.
The incident occurred yesterday (Thursday 6 May) around 2:40 p.m. near Lufton.
The road was closed for some time while Avon and Somerset police responded.
The police have now confirmed that they have arrested a man on suspicion of driving while he was not fit from alcohol or drugs.
A statement said: “A man was summoned for driving offenses following a collision between a car and a van on the A3088 in Lufton, Yeovil.

“The road between the Cartgate roundabout and the Montacute intersection was closed until around 4.30pm.
“The driver of the car, a man in his thirties, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit from alcohol or drugs and driving without insurance.
“He was later reported for subpoena under Section 5A of the 1988 Road Traffic Act (driving while the concentration of a drug is above the legal limit) and without insurance.”
