Air ambulance jumbled up and street taped up after a woman was hit by a car near Ashton bus station – live updates

In Ashton-Under-Lyne, a road is closed in both directions after a woman was hit by a vehicle near the bus station.

Police were called to Wellington Road today (Saturday, December 18) at 2:10 p.m. after reports of a traffic accident were reported.

“A vehicle collided with a pedestrian, both the police and the NWAS responded,” said Chief Inspector Chris Boyd.

Just before 3 p.m., Transport for Greater Manchester said the incident resulted in some incoming and outgoing bus routes having to be diverted in Ashton.

Stagecoach meanwhile announced in a tweet that all of its services have been redirected.

“Due to a police incident outside Ashton Bus Terminal, all services will be operated from Gas Street until further notice.

“Stagecoach and TfGM employees are on site to help the passengers,” said the bus company.

Inrix traffic monitoring service reported that the police incident occurred between West Street and A627 / Cavendish Street.

People have reported seeing a helicopter and white tents at the scene.

An ambulance was also reported to have taken someone to the hospital.
