Police are looking for witnesses following a serious collision between a car and a cyclist on the A1 southbound near Wyboston.

Emergency services were called on Thursday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. to report a collision between a black Mazda MX5 and a man on a yellow bike.

The cyclist, who was wearing a safety vest, suffered life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, where he is still in serious condition.

Sergeant Craig Wheeler of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Police said: “We ask anyone who has seen either the car or the cyclist in the minutes prior to the collision to contact us. We’d especially like to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident or the car and bike. ”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101 or through the Bedfordshire Police website.
