A Tangmere woman who crashed into three parked cars and her vehicle rolled while banned from the streets more than three times the drink driving limit.

Diana Woloszszuk had been drinking around 4 a.m. the night before the crash on St. Paul’s Road in Chichester on February 21.

The 35-year-old Windmill Drive pharmacist had to be pulled out of her Fiat 500 by a member of the public, but was uninjured in the incident.

Woloszszuk admitted to police that they had failed to appreciate that she was still over the limit when she woke up that morning.

She failed a roadside breath test and was subsequently arrested and charged with driving 114 mcg of alcohol per 100 ml of breath in her system. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Woloszczuk appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on March 8, where she pleaded guilty to the crime.

She was banned from driving for 23 months, fined a total of £ 303 and received a joint injunction with an obligation to rehabilitate.

Investigator PC Zachary Stout of the Chichester Neighborhood Response Team said:

“The defendant was remorseful for her actions, which she regrets. Even so, she knows that she should never have tried driving drunk.

“It is a common misconception that after a few hours of sleep you can drive well. This very much depends on how much alcohol you consumed and how much time you gave yourself before driving.

“Alcohol stays in your system for hours after you stop drinking, and if in doubt, don’t drive at all. You could end up in such a situation, or worse, you could kill yourself or someone else.”

Drink driving is one of the top five causes of death and serious injury on our roads, as is speeding, cell phone use, not buckling up and careless driving.
