BREAKING: Pedestrians are said to be dead after three car accidents in Hulme

According to the Manchester Evening News, a pedestrian died after three cars collided in Hulme.

Emergency services were moved to Chorlton Road around 6 p.m. tonight, January 6th.

A large cordon was erected between Bold Street and Marple Street, with a huge police presence on site.

There were additional barriers on many of the adjacent back streets, including Mackworth Street and Bankwell Street.

Cars were directed away from the crime scene by traffic cops.

It is assumed that the deceased was a pedestrian and did not drive any of the vehicles involved.

Motorists were directed away from the crime scene shortly after 6 p.m.

Two of the cars were visibly damaged inside the barrier, both with the hazard warning lights switched on.

A third vehicle, a Mercedes MPV, was also damaged and positioned on the edge of the barrier.

What happened to the drivers of the vehicles involved is not known.

Specialized officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) examined the road surface and conducted investigations.

It is believed they arrived around 8 p.m.

Due to the severity of the incident, it is assumed that the cordon will remain in place until the early hours of the morning.

The police are asking people to avoid the area for the time being.

One person died in the collision and the cordon is expected to remain in place until the early hours of the morning

A comment has been made to the Greater Manchester Police Department.
