BREAKING: Pedestrians injured after car hits the wall in a police chase – two men have fled the scene

A major emergency response has been launched following a major crash in north Manchester.

Police taped Cheetham Hill Road at the intersection of Woodlands Street after the incident.

Witnesses say a car that was being followed by police crashed just after 7 p.m. tonight (Saturday).

In a statement, GMP said: “At around 5:45 pm this afternoon (Saturday April 3), a vehicle that was being followed by officials was involved in a collision with a wall on Cheetham Hill Road.

“After the collision, a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon. He is being held for questioning.

“Two other men then fled the scene.

“A pedestrian – a woman in her thirties – was injured in the collision and was hospitalized. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing.”

A black vehicle in the police cordon appears to have crashed into a row of bollards and badly damaged.

Local traffic sites have reported traffic buildings along Cheetham Hill Road near the intersection of Woodlands Street.
