Car tips on its side near busy Dundee roundabout

A car rolled over on its side near a busy roundabout in Dundee Thursday night, resulting in a driver being rushed to Ninewells Hospital.

The collision with two vehicles occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. when the woman was cut out of her vehicle by firefighters before she was taken to the hospital.

The incident took place at the Scott Fyffe roundabout just off Arbroath Road in the city, in the presence of the police, ambulance and fire department.

An eyewitness said, “When I drove by, there were two ambulances on the way to the scene, as well as some traffic police and a fire team.

“Traffic was still allowed to flow towards Broughty Ferry.”

A spokesman for SFRS said: “We received a call from Police Scotland at 8:26 pm to report an accident involving two vehicles on the roundabout.

“Two cars are involved and one should be on the side. Firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment freed the driver from one of the cars and were taken to the hospital. “

Two Kingsway devices are present while Olice monitors the traffic.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received a report from Scott Fyffe about a two-car accident at the roundabout on Thursday, May 27th, around 8:15 pm.”
