He did not want to comment on the investigation.
On Monday, he said the investigation was going well and the detectives would be staying in town until at least the end of the week to find out if more than one person could have been involved in the alleged kidnapping of the four-year-old from her family tent at the campsite Blowholes.
Detective Blaine returned to Carnarvon after spending the weekend in Perth.
Police said Monday they were limited in what they could say as Mr Kelly was on trial.

A police tent that was set up at Mr. Kelly’s home was packed today, but the police are still guarding the scene.
The police had been working with laptops in the tent because they had stayed out of the sun while they continued to confiscate items from the house.
Detectives are investigating the car wore blue PPE and gloves and wore face masks.
While Cleo was still missing, police repeatedly requested information on a car that witnesses reported had left Blowholes Road for Carnarvon between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on the day of her disappearance.
The four-year-old had camped with her family in the Blowholes, about 75 kilometers north of Carnarvon.
