Firefighters rushed to the scene after a driver was trapped in his vehicle following a collision in Dartmoor today (October 15).
The Devon and Cornwall Fire Service confirmed crews were being dispatched to Ilsington after reports that a vehicle had landed on the site following an accident.
The driver was trapped in the car and the crews used cutting devices to give paramedics access to the injured man.

The person was taken out of the vehicle under the guidance of the rescue service and handed over to the team.
A statement on the Newton Abbot Fire Station’s Facebook page stated: “Three more missions for the Newton Abbot Fire Station crews today. On the first call, our two devices responded to an RTC (Road Traffic Collision.) In addition to another pump from the Torquay Fire Station. )
“Upon arrival at the RTC, after a collision with a van and a parked car, the crews stood on their side with a vehicle in which the driver was trapped.
“The crews used battery-operated cutters to cut off the roof and give the paramedics further access to the injured person. The crews freed the driver manually under the direction of the emergency services.”
A statement on the fire department’s website stated: “The fire department received calls reporting an RTC with three vehicles at the above location.
“Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and rapid devices to free the injured person from the vehicle.
“The injured person was then handed over to the ambulance service. These are the full and final details.”
