Disgust after gang of yobs hurl ‘bricks’ at disabled woman in Asda car park

Police are investigating after yobs bombed a disabled woman’s car with ‘bricks’.

The terrifying incident happened on the car park of the Asda superstore in Swinton on Tuesday afternoon (January 25).

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, the woman’s husband said that the youths refused to stop and eventually cracked the car’s windows.

He said: “We parked in the disabled bay and as my wife went to go into Asda, I started looking around my car to see if it needed cleaning.

“It was then that I started to hear stones banging on my car so I turned around and saw seven youths.

“I asked them why they were throwing the stones and asked them to stop, telling them that I had a disabled person with me.

“They just got more aggressive and threw more and more stones.

“I said to my wife ‘get in the car’ and tried to drive out of the car park but they started hurling bricks and managed to smash and crack the windows.”

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are now investigating the incident, a force spokesman confirmed.

A GMP spokesman said: “Police were called around 4pm on 25 January 2022 to a supermarket car park on Wellington Road, Swinton to a report of a group of teenagers causing a disturbance and one male who had thrown a large stone at a car.

“Inquiries are currently ongoing.”
