A dog was hit by a car on the A38 and seriously injured.
It happened between Leigham and Manadon, which resulted in traffic jams at the Ford Valley and Manadon roundabout.
The dog was taken to a nearby veterinarian.

Devon and Cornwall police were called to the scene on Wednesday November 17 at 3:10 pm after reports of a collision with a car and a dog.
The road was temporarily closed, the officers have since left the scene.
Witnesses to the incident said, “I thought it was a deer at first, but it looks like a brown boxer with a dark brown face and a long tail.
“I can imagine that a car hit it. It was horrible.”
A spokesman for the Devon and Cornwall Police Department said: “We received a call at 3:10 pm today [17 November] following reports of a car and dog collision on the A38 between Leigham and Manadon, Plymouth.
“The dog was badly injured and was taken to a nearby vet. The road was not blocked and the officers are now away from the crime scene.
