The hollow the car drove into on Marlborough Avenue

On Marlborough Avenue, Hull, residents suffered a rude awakening around 3:20 a.m. when a red car crashed into a heap and other parked vehicles, causing a major fire in the street.

“It woke us up. The car horn went on all the time,” said a woman who lived a few doors away from the hollow.

“There was a big fire in the middle of the street and there were small explosions from it.

“It must have been a storm to hit the hollow with such force as to move it.”

“It was about a minute before [the fire] was in full swing. “
