An elderly woman has been hospitalized in a downtown car accident.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said: “The police were called at 11.35 am about an accident involving a car and a pedestrian.
“An elderly lady was injured and taken to the hospital as a precaution. This happened in the Smallgate area of Beccles.
“Road closure opened at 12.47 p.m.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 11:28 am with reports of a collision on Market Street in Beccles.

Drivers who use Beccles city center can expect significant delays in their journey.
BorderBus services such as 580 and First services such as X2 and X22 are affected.
