Glasgow car crash triggers road closure as couple rush to hospital for treatment

Two people have been hospitalized after a car crash in Glasgow.

The crash involving a car happened on London Road near the Clyde Gateway at around 3.10pm this afternoon.

The male driver and female passenger were taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

London Road had to be closed to traffic as a result of the incident and Glasgow City Council’s traffic management department TRAFFCOM issued an emergency bulletin Instruct road users to look for an alternative route.

Police have confirmed that recovery of the vehicle in question has been arranged.

The road was reopened to traffic around 4:50 p.m.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We received a report at around 3.10pm on Tuesday 25 January 2022 of an accident involving a car on London Road in Glasgow.

“The male driver and female passenger were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and recovery is being arranged.”
