The Bulgarian team Overdrive Racing will be included in the field of the ADAC GT4 Germany with two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4s.
The team, founded in 2018 by the Bulgarian racing driver Georgi Donchev, was mainly involved in Porsche brand races. “We have followed the ADAC GT4 Germany closely over the past two years and are convinced of the concept. That’s why we can’t wait to be part of the coming season, ”explains team manager Aleksandar Tsvetkov.
In the driver line-up, a purely Bulgarian pairing will be seen in a car. Pavel Lefterov and 16-year-old Stefan Bostandjiev. “We want to develop young Bulgarian talents and promote them in motorsport. We are very happy that Stefan will compete in our vehicle. He is Bulgarian but lives in the UK. There he already gained his first motorsport experience, for example in kart racing. Pavel, who won a class at the Nürburgring 24-hour race in 2019, will act as his trainer and develop him at all levels. It’s not just about being fast on the racetrack, it’s also about giving him all the other qualities so that he can become a professional racing driver, ”explains team manager Tsvetkov.
The second Porsche is shared by a third Bulgarian, Tano Neumann and Joachim Bölting. This duo started successfully in 2020 in the ADAC GT4 Germany, but for another team they took third place in the trophy standings.
Supra GT4s for Italy
Two GR Supra GT4s will be used in the GT4 class of the Sprint and Endurance classes of the Italian GT Championship through a new partnership between Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe GmbH and the duel team led by Alan Gomboso.
