Happy escape as a driver unharmed after car went up in flames on the busy Scottish motorway

A car went up in flames on a busy Scottish motorway on Friday when police and fire departments were called to the scene.

Emergency services sped for the M90 ​​near Junction 4 in Fife at around 3:45 p.m. on Friday, December 17.

After the vehicle caught fire on the hard shoulder, the fire brigade was called to put out the fire.

A passenger in a passing car captured the shocking scene as smoke rose from the car.

Motorists used social media to warn that traffic had come to a standstill.

One wrote, “We’ve been stuck for over 20 minutes but can’t really see what happened.”

Another said: “I passed the car when it was completely on fire – there were no police or fire brigade yet – a man was a few meters away.”

Nobody was injured in the fire.

A police spokesman for Scotland said: “We were made aware of a burning car on the hard shoulder of the M90 ​​near Junction 4 at around 3:45 pm.
