AN Interstate 35 crash has led to a 14-car pile-up — causing chaos near Highway 290 in Austin, Texas as emergency crews arrive on the scene.

The tweet reads: “Here you can see the 14-vehicle crash on I-35 and 290.”

Austin-Travis County EMS, the Austin, Texas Police Department, and Austin Fire responded to the 14-vehicle crash, KVUE reports.

The crash occurred on I-35 southbound and 290.

Following the crash, ATCEMS urged people in the area to “avoid travel on elevated roadways and overpasses, as icy conditions will continue overnight.”

ATCEMS revealed, “no patients have been transported from this incident.”

Medics with ATCEMS treated one adult patient with minor injuries, who “refused transport to the hospital.”

The Sun reached out to the Austin, Texas Police Department but did not immediately receive a response.

Approximately 20 minutes before ATCEMS tweeted about the patient with minor injuries, ATCEMS reported that National Weather Service has extended the Winter Storm Warning for the area until 10am Friday.

“The Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 9am,” ATCEMS wrote.

“Icy road conditions will continue overnight into tomorrow, avoid travel if possible. Stay inside, stay warm & stay #WeatherAware.”

Earlier in the day, Austin Police Department took to social media to warn about the icy conditions.

The department tweeted: “Stay safe by staying home. Icy road conditions are making for hazardous roads throughout Austin and surrounding communities.

“As you can see, there is a solid sheet of ice covering vehicles and roads.

“Temperatures will remain below freezing well into Friday, so avoid travel.”

It appears winter weather conditions are causing trouble throughout the state as another car pile-up also took place on US 59 South over 90A in Houston, Texas.

According to Fox26Houston, a 12 car pile-up also occurred on Thursday night.

“Police are urging people to avoid the area and driving if possible… ice is becoming a problem in spots,” Fox26Houston reporter Matthew Seedorff tweeted.

Meanwhile, at least six people have been injured in a horrific 16 vehicle pile-up on Austin Peay Highway in Memphis, Tennessee.
