Lack of Gasoline Drivers: “It’s Stupidity” – Cars pour onto streets beyond forecourt while waiting for fuel | News from the UK

Throughout the night the cars kept coming – they poured into the streets behind the forecourt.

But at 6 a.m., people at the Isleworth gas station West london, had covered the first of the empty pumps and by 7 a.m. there was no unleaded pump left at all.

It was all too frustrating for taxi driver Oswald Donald.

“It’s stupid that we all get in line, but that’s my job, so I have to have Diesel … that’s it – I’m here for my job.

“A person tells someone that there are queues, so they go and do it and so on and so on.”

Live updates as motorists desperately search for fuel with the lack of tanker drivers

Steve Georgiades was out to get fuel at 6:30 am and the Shell repair shop was the third attempt he had tried.

“Look at my tank, I usually don’t refuel, I leave it.

“Look at this – it’s empty. How should I work on Monday? Are you with me?

Some drivers even refilled small gas cans after refueling their cars.

And at 9 a.m. the pegs were placed at the front entrances when an employee explained that there was no more fuel at all.

A delivery, he said, was coming, but he didn’t know when or what type it would be.

And queues for another nearby gas station have knotted the surrounding streets to ensure any delivery is delayed.

The irony is that there is no national fuel shortage, just the drivers.

But panic buying will certainly miss out on many drivers who really need to refuel.
