The B656 was closed by police on Thursday evening (May 13) after a collision with two vehicles near St. Ippolyts.
Hertfordshire police said the road had been closed at the junction of the B656 and B651 near the Rusty Gun pub and between Hitchin and Codicote while emergency services were handling the incident.
Herts Fire & Rescue Service and the rescue service were also on site.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Traffic Information Service Inrix said, “Road closed and slow traffic due to an accident, two cars on B656 London Road in either direction from B651 to Little Almshoe Road. Not far from The Rusty Gun.”
The road was closed for about two hours just before 7 p.m.
