M27 reopened after four injuries in a three car collision between Park Gate and Southampton

The east lane of the freeway was closed between Exit 8 near High Town and Exit 9 at Park Gate when emergency services responded to a collision at 6 p.m. tonight.

Rescue workers reported four injuries in the incident.

Fire teams have been mobilized to assist in the recovery of a person from a vehicle, according to a tweet from an account with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Services.

The tweet continued: “@ Fareham17, @ Cosham23 and @ Redbridge53 participated in a road collision on the M27 to the east between Windhover and Park Gate. Three vehicles involved, 4 injured, 1 person freed by fire and rescue services. ‘

At 8 p.m. the road was opened again.

The police and ambulance services have been contacted for more information.
